Absurd
Checkpointed workflows that replay persisted steps after interruption.

What this system is built around
PostgreSQL durable workflows that replay task code and load persisted step results on retry.
Consider for long-running processes with durable sleep, external events and checkpoint replay. Requires stable workflow code/step identities and an external strategy for recurring schedules; compare contracts before comparing throughput.

Concise claims with their scope intact. “Not verified” means this review did not establish the answer.
Claiming & concurrency
QualifiedWorkers pull tasks as capacity permits; SDK worker examples configure concurrency. This review did not verify a native fleet-wide concurrency or rate-limit primitive.
Transactional enqueue
DocumentedTypeScript bindToConnection runs spawn and other operations on a supplied database connection, allowing use inside an application transaction. The caller must own the transaction.
Crash recovery & retries
DocumentedWorkers claim a task for a bounded duration; checkpoint writes extend the claim. After expiration another worker can pick up the task; enough progress/headroom is required.
Delayed & recurring work
QualifiedTasks can sleep or await cached named events. No built-in recurring scheduler: docs show an application scheduler or optional pg_cron plus spawn-time idempotency keys.
Uniqueness / deduplication
DocumentedIf a task with a matching queue-scoped idempotency key exists, spawn returns that task. Provider-side idempotency is separate.
Postgres extension required
Not requiredCore installs a SQL schema on PostgreSQL 14+. pg_cron is one optional recurring-scheduler approach, not a core prerequisite.
Operator interface
DocumentedHabitat is a separate Go application with an embedded SolidJS UI for tasks, runs, checkpoints and events; it connects directly to PostgreSQL.
Tradeoffs to carry into a test
This is durable workflow/checkpoint execution, not the same contract as a plain job queue or visibility-timeout message queue.
Architecture and SDKs Checkpoints, claims, retries and external idempotencyA completed checkpoint prevents re-running that recorded step; it does not atomically commit arbitrary provider effects with the checkpoint.
Checkpoints, claims, retries and external idempotencyGo SDK is described upstream as experimental bootstrap.
